Refund Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
1. Scope
This policy covers the paid AbcMusicStudio Cloud and Supporter subscriptions. The Local Free tier costs nothing and has nothing to refund.
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record, so refunds are issued by Paddle, to the payment method you used. Their Buyer Terms apply alongside this policy.
2. 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have 14 days from the start of a subscription to withdraw and receive a full refund, no reason needed.
Because the Service is available immediately after payment, you may be asked to acknowledge that delivery starts at once. Where you have used the Service during that period, we may reduce the refund proportionally — in practice, for a subscription of this size, we refund in full and do not apply a deduction.
3. Beyond 14 days
Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period. When you cancel, your subscription keeps running until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account then moves to Local Free. That remaining time is yours — we do not cut it short.
We do not normally refund part-used periods after the first 14 days. We do refund, on request:
- A renewal you did not intend, if you tell us within 14 days of the charge and have not made significant use of the Service since.
- A duplicate or accidental charge.
- A period during which the Service was substantially unavailable through our fault.
- A failure of a feature the plan promised, where we could not fix it in a reasonable time.
Yearly plans are covered by the same terms; for a renewal you did not intend, we will normally refund the whole year rather than a fraction of it.
4. The Supporter tier
Supporter is a Cloud subscription at a higher price, for people who want to help fund development. The extra amount above the Cloud price is a voluntary contribution: it is refundable under the 14-day right in section 2, and after that we refund the difference only at our discretion. You can switch down to the standard Cloud plan at any time from the Configuration page, which takes effect at the next renewal.
5. How to ask
Write to contact@abcmusicstudio.org from the address on the account, saying what you would like refunded and roughly why. You do not need to justify a request made within the 14 days of section 2.
We aim to answer within 5 working days. Approved refunds are issued by Paddle and usually appear within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
You can also request a refund directly from Paddle using the receipt they emailed you.
6. What happens to your data after a refund
A refunded or cancelled account moves to the Local Free tier when its subscription ends. It is not deleted, and neither is your music: the next time you sign in, the app moves your tunes, folders and attachments into your browser and checks them there before the Cloud copy is deleted. Version history, Bands and Courses, your public musician page and offline pins end with Cloud.
We still recommend keeping your own copy with Export before the change takes effect. The Cancel subscription button on the Configuration page also downloads a backup of your folders and tunes; it lists your attachments but does not contain the files.
If you would rather your account and content were deleted outright, say so in your refund request.
7. Price changes
If we raise the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you by email before it applies. If you do not want the new price, cancel before the renewal date and you will not be charged it. If a raised price is charged because our notice failed to reach you, tell us and we will refund the difference or the whole renewal, whichever you prefer.
